Where to fly into
Please plan to arrive in Italy no later then October 3rd, and arrive in Tropea on October 4th. We recommend giving yourself a minimum of one day buffer if you are planning on Tropea being your first stop in Europe. International travel can be difficult and delays are common.
Closest major airport - Naples International Airport
Closest regional airport - Lamezia Terme International Airport
There are a few options when it comes to transport. While we recommend trying to fly directly to Lamezia international airport [SUF], some flights might need you to transfer to Naples and get a regional flight over. Check with your local airline or use skyscanner or google flights to help you find some cheaper options.
Lamezia Terme International Airport [SUF]
Via Aeroporto, 88046 Lamezia Terme CZ, Italy
If you are wanting to rent a car, the hotel is a 1hr drive away from Lamezia or a 5hr drive from Naples. If you wish to drive from Naples please refer to the directions here. Otherwise to get to Tropea from Lamezia you can get there by following the A2/E45 and SS522 South.
1.hr drive via highway A2/E45 and SS522 / or SS 280 dei Due Mari (of the two seas)/E848, A2/E45 and SS522
Train info
If you are getting the train from Lamezia you will need to take a short bus from the international airport into Lamezia Terme. From there it is a 48min train into Tropea, finished by a short walk through town to Rocca Della Sena,

It is also possible to take a high speed train from Naples to Lamezia, then switch to the regional train to get to Tropea. This is the route we took and it was very easy to navigate, the trip in all took around 5 1/2 hours and the scenes were beautiful from the train!

While it isn’t likely, there is always a small chance of a Autumn showers so while you wont likely need loads of warm clothing here it may be a safe idea to pack something that will keep you dry. Or embrace the Autumn showers with a quick dip in the pool or ocean. Swimsuits highly recommended.
